Connect the power cord to a wall

e unit automatically turns on, makes the
initial settings, and then turns o.

A demonstration video starts playing
automatically. Select any function to
cancel the demonstration. To enable the
demonstration, see page 102.
WARNING
Do not disconnect the power cord while the unit
is making the initial settings. Doing so may cause
the unit to malfunction.
To turn o the power
Press the  button on either the remote control
or the main unit. e power may not turn o
immediately. If it does not, this indicates that
the unit is analyzing the music data on the HDD
(hard disk drive) (page 45). If you want to cancel
the analysis and turn o the power immediately,
press . If you want to turn the power back on,
press the  button.
As long as the unit is active as a server and the
client device is playing audio data, the server
function remains active and the power stays on
even if you press the  button to turn the unit
o (the display turns o and the illumination
panel slowly ashes). Press to cancel the server
function and turn o the unit.
Turning on the power
Tip
is unit has two starting modes; Quick start-up mode
and Standard (power save) mode. See “Setting the
standby mode” on page 102 for details.
About operation modes
is unit has four operation modes: normal,
quick start-up standby, standard (power save)
standby and automatic analysis.
When the unit is set to quick start-up standby
mode, the internal fan will turn on every now and
then even when the power is turned o. is is
normal and is not a malfunction.
Normal operation mode
The unit enters this mode when it is turned on.
Quick start-up standby mode
In standby mode, the system remains partially
active to quickly resume operations when
powered on again. In quick start-up mode,
the internal fan turns on every now and then
to remove internal heat. is is normal. To set
the standby mode, enter the Settings menu and
select [System setting] (page 102).
Standard (power save) standby mode
is mode consumes less power than quick
start-up, though the unit takes more time to
resume operations when powered on again. To
set the standby mode, enter the Settings menu
and select [System setting] (page 102). e
server function cannot be used on this mode.
Automatic analysis mode
In this mode, the unit analyzes the
characteristics of music that was recorded or
imported to the HDD Jukebox and categorizes
the music by x-DJ channel. For details on the
automatic analysis, see page 45. When analysis
is being conducted, the On/Standby indicator
lights up orange and the illumination panel
slowly ashes. If you want to cancel the analysis,
press . e analysis stops and the unit enters
the selected standby mode.
