About installing the wireless
adaptor
e quality of the wireless connection may vary
according to the orientation of the wireless
adaptor.
If your unit cannot obtain a good connection,
adjust the direction of the wireless adaptor. (is
will depend on the environment in which it is
being used.)
When using Instant (S-IWS)
connection (NAS-SC55PKE only)
You can use the Instant (S-IWS) connection to
connect the unit to a network. For details, refer
to the “Quick Connection and Setup Guide”
supplied with the NAS-SC55PKE. (S-IWS is an
abbreviation of “Sony Instant Wireless Audio
Setup”.)
When using AOSS connection
You need the following devices.
Wireless adaptor (supplied)
Wireless station*

or AOSS-compatible
wireless LAN access point (WHR-HP-G54*

Automatic setup is possible with these devices.
(Automatic setup is also possible with an access
point other than the models mentioned above,
as long as it is compatible with AOSS.)

If you do not have the wireless
station or an AOSS-compatible access
point
You can set up a wireless network with the
following devices.
Wireless adaptor (supplied)

Automatic setup is not possible. e setup
must be done manually or through a search for
settings.

About AOSS
e AOSS (AirStation One-Touch Secure System) is
a technology developed by BUFFALO that simplies
connections and settings for wireless networks.
Connecting and setting up a
wireless network (AOSS setup)
e wireless network settings through an AOSS
connection can be automatically performed when
you use the supplied wireless adaptor and the
wireless station (NAS-SC55PKE only). It can also
be set with the supplied wireless adaptor and the
optional AOSS-compatible wireless LAN access
point WHR-HP-G54 (an access point other than
the WHR-HP-G54 can be used if it is compatible
with AOSS).
With these devices, the setup can be automatically
done with one push of a button.
Prepare the wireless station or the access point
in advance. For details, refer to the “Quick
Connection and Setup Guide” supplied with
NAS-SC55PKE or the operation manual of the
access point.
